The 3 Most Romantic Getaways in Andalusia for Couples π
There's something magical about Andalusia. Maybe it's the warm summer evening breeze, the scent of jasmine in the narrow streets, or simply the fact that time feels like it passes just a little bit slower here. Whatever it is, this region exudes romance β and we're lucky enough to live there.
When we plan a romantic getaway, we don't go to the usual tourist spots. We choose experiences you truly enjoy together, places where you feel like you're alone in the world for a moment. So, especially for all couples who want to discover Andalusia: our three favorite romantic getaways.
1. Admire the sunset together in Ronda π
Few places are as breathtakingly beautiful as Ronda at sunset. We love coming here for an evening stroll along the famous Puente Nuevo, the bridge that towers high above the gorge and offers spectacular views of the valley. As soon as the sun sets, the sky turns golden, and the white houses become even more magical.
π‘ Our tip: Find a table at Albacara, a restaurant with a stunning view of the gorge. Order a bottle of local wine and savor the moment. This is one of those places where you can pause together, hold hands for a moment, and realize: I could stay here for hours.
2. A private picnic in nature at El Torcal de Antequera ποΈ
Sometimes you don't need busy streets or crowded terraces, just a place where you can be alone with each other. El Torcal de Antequera is one such place. This nature reserve, with its jagged rock formations, feels almost otherworldly and is perfect for an adventurous hike.
πΏ How we make this extra special: We'll bring a well-stocked picnic basket. Think freshly baked bread, Manchego cheese, Serrano ham, and a bottle of cava. After a short walk, we find a secluded spot among the rocks, spread out a blanket, and enjoy the silence and breathtaking view together.
One of our fondest memories? Lying on our blankets, watching the birds circle high above us, with nothing but the sun and nature surrounding us.
3. A fairytale evening at the Alhambra by moonlight π
The Alhambra in Granada is impressive enough during the day, but at night? It almost feels like stepping into another era. The palaces, the fountains, the mosaic-decorated walls β everything takes on a mysterious, intimate atmosphere when the sun sets and the lights come on.
π° What we recommend: Buy tickets for a night tour of the Alhambra and be swept away by the magic of this Moorish palace. The crowds have vanished, and the only sounds you hear are the gentle lapping of water and your own footsteps on the ancient tiles.
End the evening on a rooftop terrace in the AlbaicΓn district, overlooking the illuminated Alhambra. This is Andalusia at its most romantic.
Complete your romantic getaway at Casa La Quinta π
